Two elderly women have been airlifted to Sydney hospitals with injuries following a collision between two motorcycles on an isolated country road.

About 12.30pm on Sunday, October 5, emergency services were called to Hazelgrove Road, Tarana - 33 kilometres east of Bathurst - following reports of a crash.

They arrived to find two motorcycles had collided. ACM understands that Ambulance NSW paramedics were told the bikes were travelling as part of a group.

NSW Ambulance paramedics - comprising four ambulances - two Toll Rescue Helicopters, a station manager, and an inspector attended the scene, where four patients were treated.

A woman, aged in her 70s, was treated for multiple injuries before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
