SEATTLE, Wash. - October heartbreak strikes again for Seattle, as the M's fell 3-2 in the 11th inning to the visiting Detroit Tigers, starting their playoff run down a game.
Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh were the entire offense tonight. They combined for 6-10 hitting compared to the entire rest of the lineup hitting a pitiful 0-28.
Pitching went better, as closer Andres Munoz threw a shutdown 9th and 10th inning, until Carlos Vargas, despite two strikeouts, gave up a wild pitch and the game-winning run.
Seattle now faces elite ace pitcher Tarik Skubal in Game 2 tomorrow at 5:08 p.m.
