Police arrested an 18-year-old woman this afternoon for allegedly stabbing a 13-year-old girl at Beretania Community Park.

Police responded at 3:20 p.m. to a physical fight between two 13-year-old girls at the park at 1290 Aala St. when the adult sister of one of the teens intervened.

The woman allegedly stabbed the other girl multiple times, police said in a news release.

Emergency Medical Services personnel treated the 13-year-old stabbing victim, who was taken in serious condition to a hospital.

Officers found and arrested the woman on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

Police arrested the other girl on suspicion of third-degree assault.
