San Jose police arrested a 35-year-old man last month suspected of manufacturing illegal firearms, and they seized numerous "ghost guns" in his possession, the police department announced Friday.
Frank Catanzaro of San Jose was booked June 26 on charges related to possession and sale of firearms, police said.
An anonymous tip through Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers earlier this year alerted San Jose police to possible firearms manufacturing at an apartment complex in the 4900 block of Cherry Avenue, police said.
The SJPD's special guns and weapons unit launched an investigation and identified Catanzaro as the suspect, police said. Detectives arrested him at his Cherry Avenue home.
