The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday announced industrialist Rajinder Gupta as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha bypoll in Punjab. The election, scheduled for October 24, will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of AAP MP Sanjeev Arora, who vacated his Rajya Sabha seat after being elected to the Punjab assembly.

Arora, who now serves as a minister in the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Cabinet, had won the Ludhiana West assembly bypoll earlier this year.
