It was an easy decision for Sprayberry coach Pete Fominaya once his team matched Creekview’s overtime touchdown.
Between kicking the extra point and going for the win, he opted for the latter.
Quarterback Jaden Duckett powered across the goal line, resulting in a pivotal 36-35 win over the last remaining undefeated team in Region 6AAAAA.
“I'm not super patient,” Fominaya said. “I felt like we just had some momentum. We scored right there at the end of the game, and I feel like our offense has a lot of firepower. I said ‘let's put the ball in our best player's hand’, and he scored it.”
