SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A 75-year-old woman was fatally struck by a red-light-running driver just a few steps away from her Sunset Park home, police said.
The woman, identified as 75-year-old Judith Byron, was in a crosswalk on Seventh Avenue near 41st Street when an SUV crashed into her, according to the NYPD. The crash happened around 9:35 p.m.
Byron was rushed to an area hospital and pronounced dead. The driver fled the scene of the crash and no arrests have been made, police said.
Videos posted to Citizen show the street blocked off in front of a deli as passersby look on.
