Soon, Crayola will receive recognition through a statewide, historical initiative.
The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission has approved 45 new historical markers statewide, including one honoring the Crayola crayon.
The marker recognizing Crayola joins a range of subjects across 21 counties. The newly approved markers celebrate more than 350 years of Pennsylvania history, part of efforts tied to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.
There is no set location yet for the Crayola marker or the others, and the Historical Marker team is in the beginning stages of finalizing the text for the signage.
