KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Two teenage girls from Wichita, Kansas, were hospitalized after crashing a pair of jet skis at the Lake of the Ozarks Saturday evening.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash logs, at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday, two teenage girls, ages 13 and 15, were individually driving their own Sea-Doo Spark jet skis near the 58-mile marker of the lake's Osage Arm.

As the two girls were driving, MSHP said the 15-year-old "side-swiped" the 13-year-old's jet ski, causing both teens to be ejected into the water.

The 13-year-old was taken to Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries, and the 15-year-old was taken to the same hospital with moderate injuries.

Both girls had safety devices on while driving the jet skis.

At this time, the 13-year-old's condition is unknown.
