Bhubaneswar: Voicing concern over violent clashes during Durga idol immersion procession in Cuttack, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Sunday appealed to the people to remain calm and maintain peace in the city.

Stressing that that Odisha has always been a peace-loving state, the former chief minister said Cuttack is a city known for its spirit of brotherhood and harmony. ADVERTISEMENT

Naveen, who is also the leader of opposition in Odisha Assembly, said that the people of Cuttack, in particular, value harmony and mutual respect.

The ex-CM appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and uphold the city’s tradition of unity and goodwill.
