Last week, Robert MacIntyre helped Team Europe win the Ryder Cup in New York. This week, he had a dominant victory in his native Scotland.
The 29-year-old Scot won the 2025 Alfred Dunhill Links, playing across three courses in Scotland, only seven days after going 1-1-1 at Bethpage Black in his second Ryder Cup. MacIntyre claimed the weather-shortened event after shooting three straight rounds of 66s at Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and the Old Course at St. Andrews on Sunday, finishing at 18 under for the championship.
"Unbelievable. Any time you can win a golf tournament on these shores is special. But I'm just delighted with the way I've done it," MacIntyre said. "I've played really nice over the three days, and here we are."
He topped Team Europe teammate Tyrrell Hatton by four shots to win the Dunhill Links for the first time.
Weather conditions during Saturday's third round, after some during Friday's second round, forced the tournament to be shortened to 54 holes. There was set to be a cut after each player completed one round on the three courses, with those who made the final round playing at St. Andrews, but because it was a 54-hole event, there was no cut.
It's the fourth DP World Tour win of MacIntyre's career.
"I don't know how we're going to celebrate after the celebration we had last Sunday," he said. "We'll try our best. I don't know if it'll be tonight but it'll be over the next couple of weeks. We'll have a nice celebration. Any time you can win, it's difficult to win. It's just a beautiful ending to a good week."
