SHANDAKEN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An investigation is underway after a serious multi-car crash in Ulster County on Saturday, according to New York State Police. The crash reportedly occurred on State Route 28 in the town of Shandaken.

State Police troopers responded to the scene just before 1:40 p.m. following reports of a three-vehicle crash. Two people were reportedly seriously injured and were taken to Albany Medical Center via helicopter.

Both Route 28 and Route 212 were closed for around seven hours on Saturday as a result of the crash. The road has since reopened.
