Miscues were plentiful for the Michigan State Spartans across the board in their 38-27 loss to Nebraska on Saturday.

But the Spartans’ (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) offense had one of its biggest let downs of the season totaling 240 yards of total offense and just 3.5 yards per play, both season-lows by a considerable amount.

MSU received a 58.0 overall offensive grade from Pro Football Focus, the lowest mark from the analytics site since a Week 12 defeat to Illinois last season.

The rushing attack was modest, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt adjusted to exclude sack yardage and posting the team’s highest grade of 74.0. But the passing game was among the worst the Spartans have put on the last two seasons.
