President Donald Trump has deployed 300 California National Guard troops to Oregon, California Gov. Gavin Newsom said on Sunday morning.

“They are on their way there now,” Newsom said in a post on the social media site X.

Newsom noted that a federal judge in Oregon on Saturday blocked Trump’s attempt to deploy 200 members of that state’s National Guard to control protests outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in South Portland.

Newsom vowed to fight Trump’s deployment of California National Guard members.
