Srinagar, Oct 5: A political or literary view becomes redundant if it does not contribute to the overall wellbeing and growth of the society, said CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam MY Tarigami.

He was the chief guest at the launch of a collection of short stories, ‘Shareefon Ka Mohalla’ authored by known broadcaster and writer Mohammad Hussain Zaffar.

Addressing the gathering, Tarigami said Kashmir has no dearth of talent in the art and literature. However, the CPI (M) leader stated that culture and literature help society to emerge when new ideas emerge.

“If the evolution of ideas ceases to exist, it proves to be counterproductive. We don’t always have to deliberate on what is right and what is wrong. The focus should be to have a lively society,” said Tarigami. He said literature survives
