We have all made appointments for the dentist, the doctor or to get our nails done. We mark it on the calendar or enter it into our phone as reminders in a busy lifestyle. Some businesses, especially in the medical field, are now enrolling us in text message services to send us reminders. I actually like that idea. It has helped me more than once in the past. For example, my cardiologist office sent me one such text reminder a few years ago that led to me keeping an appointment. This was a follow up visit that had been scheduled six months prior and since forgotten. Thank goodness! Because that visit led to a thorough examination with multiple follow up tests and scans revealing some major problems. Open heart surgery followed a few weeks later.
