Humphreys wakes up, Gavin gets his cue card and Connolly forges ahead – winners and losers in latest presidential debate

As the second debate of the presidential election wound down on RTÉ yesterday afternoon, what we already knew from the first debate came into greater focus.

With a mercifully shorter slot on The Week in Politics , there was less arm-waving from Jim Gavin, a little more fight from Heather Humphreys and Catherine Connolly stayed on course as a candidate who has long-held views and is sticking to them.
