CROWN POINT — The Sunday death of a 37-year-old Hammond woman has been ruled a homicide by the Lake County Coroner's Office.
Kimberly Murphy underwent asphyxiation and blunt force trauma during an incident in the 1300 block of Summer Street, coroner officials said.
The coroner's office said it was called out to the site around 7:42 p.m. Sunday.
An autopsy was done Monday.
No one at the Hammond Police Department could be immediately reached early Monday afternoon for comment.
