LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Executive Inn in Lubbock is shutting its doors to tenants, according to signs posted by management on Sunday.

The signs stated, "We sincerely apologize that we have to voluntarily shut down our units. The recent overdoses, shootings and robberies are the reason. The city wants this action immediately."

The sign also states that tenants must vacate their units by 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Lubbock Lights first reported in August that police were contemplating closing the Executive Inn due to ongoing criminal activity at the motel. Police Chief Seth Herman expressed a desire for the motel to "comply with whatever necessary changes are required to curtail the ongoing criminal activity."
