The Jammu administration has announced the closure of all schools across the division on October 6 and 7 following a 48-hour heavy rainfall forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.
According to officials, both government and private schools will remain shut during this period, as the region braces for continuous rainfall accompanied by possible waterlogging and disruptions in transport. The IMD has warned of heavy to very heavy rain
in several districts of Jammu division, which could lead to flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
