WASHINGTON — On Saturday, DC police were called to a Southeast home for reports of property damage.

Police arrived at 1430 Tobias Drive, SE, just before 6 p.m. The homeowner, Adeoye Ibrahim Yakubu Owolewa, reported the phrase "F U" spray-painted in blue across his front door.

Owolewa wasn't home when it occurred; he told police he discovered it when returning to his home around 3 p.m.

“I condemn this form of political violence,” says Owolewa. “I live in a townhome community where my house looks exactly like everyone else’s. This attack seems to be deliberately targeting me. These types of attacks are becoming increasingly common. Political vandalism is often used to silence those who speak truth to power."
