STOCKTON, Kan. (KSNW) - A 2.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Rooks County on Sunday afternoon.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 2:58 p.m. about 3.6 miles north of Stockton near U.S. Highway 183.

It occurred at a depth of 12.3 kilometers, or about 7.6 miles underground. The USGS received multiple reports of people feeling the shaking in the area.
