WABAUNSEE COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) - A former Wabaunsee County Jail correctional officer was arrested on Sunday.
According to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the 48-year-old man was arrested for one count of mistreatment of a confined person after turning himself in to authorities.
On May 28, the Wabaunsee County Sheriff’s Office contacted the KBI for assistance after learning a correctional officer had reportedly been taking money from an inmate for personal use since March.
The man was terminated from the Wabaunsee County Jail in June.
KSN does not name individuals believed to be connected to a crime unless formal charges have been filed.
