PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police are working to detain a suspect after a woman was shot inside a central Phoenix home on Sunday morning.
At about 11:08 am, first responders were dispatched to the area of 3rd Street and Purdue Avenue regarding a shooting.
Phoenix police arrived and found a woman who was shot at least once and applied a tourniquet before she was transported to a nearby hospital.
Officers learned an adult male was still inside the house and dispatched the Special Assignments Unit and detectives, according to Phoenix PD.
Arizona’s Family crews on the scene observed what appeared to be a barricade situation at a home in the area.
Authorities ask that people stay out of the area while the investigation is ongoing.
