TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Department of Transportation opened travel lanes ahead of schedule on Sunday after a large section of the Downtown Tampa Interchange underwent construction.
As of 6 p.m., all travel lanes through the I-275 and I-4 Downtown Tampa Interchange are once again accessible to commuters.
The temporary closure of the interchange began Saturday as it underwent significant changes, with completion of the project not expected until 5 a.m. Monday.
FDOT thanks motorists in Tampa Bay for their patience and understanding and reminds them to slow down and stay alert.
