HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 1960, John F. Kennedy visited Kentucky.
He spoke at Jefferson Square in Louisville.
It was part of his campaign to become president with just a month left before the election.
He spend a good part of his speech separating himself from then Vice President Richard Nixon.
And it worked.
Kennedy won the election. However, Nixon got his revenge by becoming president after the 1968 election.
