A 14-year-old has been charged with assault to murder after jumping and stabbing a fellow teen on her way home from school in late September, Suffolk County DA Kevin Hayden announced Sunday.
“This assault, beyond the injuries and fear and trauma it inflicted upon the victim, hurt us all,” said Hayden. “When young lives are impacted by such violence it’s a tragedy for families, neighborhoods, schools and larger society itself. I wish this victim a full recovery on every level.”
The East Boston teen was arraigned in Chelsea Juvenile Court on charges of assault to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery in relation to the September incident in which a high school student sustained stab wounds to the head, legs, and back, causing a punctured lung.
