Shawnee opened the season 1-2, stumbling through a one-point loss to Ardmore and a rout at the hands of Duncan. For some programs, that’s enough to unravel momentum. For the Wolves, it was a wake-up call.

Shawnee pulled off a 34-27 upset district win over Class 5A No. 3 Tulsa Booker T. Washington on Friday behind a stellar performance from quarterback Braylon Lassiter. The senior scored four times on the night, including a 70-yard touchdown run that ultimately sealed the victory down the stretch.
