KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Monday October 6 is the final day to register to vote in the Knoxville general election, the city reminded residents. People can register here.
Five City Council seats — for districts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 — are up for grabs, and residents will also vote on a sales tax increase. Early voting is scheduled to begin October 15, although one polling place plans to open late due to a scheduling issue. Election day is on November 4. See the early voting locations and the primary election results.
District 5 voters can still vote on the tax increase even though their seat is not on the ballot. The Mayor said this tax increase would help fund several projects including additional road paving and sidewalks as well as affordable housing units.
