CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Chesapeake home was damaged by fire on Sunday afternoon.

The fire was reported at 4:25 p.m. in the 300 block of Mobile Drive, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department. That’s in the Deep Creek area of the city.

Firefighters reported smoke and flames coming from the rear of the residence when they arrived. They quickly extinguished the fire and contained it to its area of origin. It was marked out at 5:01 p.m.

The occupants escaped the home safely before firefighters arrived, and there were no injuries reported. Investigators are working to determine a cause of the fire.
