I can reveal that Monroe, who is just 14, is being developed as a pop star to follow in the ­footsteps of her powerhouse vocalist mum.

Mariah , who scored her 20th Top 40 album on Friday with her latest record Here For It All, has filed papers to ringfence Monroe Carey’s name and stop anyone else cashing in.

Through her firm Lotion LLC, the Touch My Body singer has asked lawyers at the US ­Patent and Trademark Office for legal protection to reserve the name for everything from live musical performances and audiovisual recordings to music videos and “other entertainment information”.
