WASHINGTON, Conn. — Twenty-five years after the debut of "Gilmore Girls," the small town of Washington, Conn. has become a pilgrimage site for fans.
Washington, a town located in the western part of the state with a population of just under 3,500, holds the inspiration of Lorelai and Rory’s small-town life. On maps and mail, it’s Washington. But for fans, it's "Stars Hollow."
The small town served as the model for the show’s fictional setting, where creator Amy Sherman-Palladino drew inspiration while visiting.
“It’s the people that really make Washington Stars Hollow,” said Michelle Gorra, the town’s economic and community development coordinator.
