AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Sod Poodles’ season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the accolades can’t keep rolling in, and the Arizona Diamondbacks just named two Sod Poodles for two different awards earlier in the week.

Ryan Waldschmidt was named the organization’s MILB Player of the Year for his efforts in the second half of the season. He got called up to Amarillo in late June.

In 66 games and 249 ABs, he notched 57 runs, 77 hits, nine home runs, 26 extra base hits, and 35 RBIs. He ended the season with a batting average of .309.

He was also named the Texas League Player of the Week on Aug. 18 and the Texas League Player of the Month for August.

Daniel Eagen was named the organization’s Pitcher of the Year for his efforts. Although he spent most of his time in Hillsboro,
