Another India vs Pakistan high-profile match on the international scene invited controversy this time during the Women’s World Cup 2025. Sunday’s match became not only about the outcome but also about a controversial and dramatic run-out involving Pakistan opener Muneeba Ali.

The incident occurred during the fourth over’s last delivery. Muneeba, having been barely given LBW by a close call off Kranti Gaud a decision India had decided against reviewing though replays later indicated all three stumps in red carelessly stepped out of her crease. India’s Deepti Sharma sensing the moment, threw the ball at the stumps and found Muneeba short. The on-field umpire dismissed her, and that decision was immediately met with outrage, Pakistan captain visibly taking the issue with the match officials.
