Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has announced the recommencement of student admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the academic year 2025-26, following the release of crucial funds by the Union Government that had been withheld for two years. This move comes after a legal battle that reached the Supreme Court, resolving a dispute over the financing of the mandate that requires private schools to provide free education to 25% of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
