Jammu, Oct 6: A mild earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale struck the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir in the early hours of Monday, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

The tremor occurred at 2:47 AM (IST) at a depth of 5 kilometres, with its epicentre located at latitude 33.10°N and longitude 76.18°E, the NCS reported.

No casualties or property damage have been reported so far from the affected region.

In an official post on X, the NCS stated:

“EQ of M: 3.6, On: 06/10/2025 02:47:08 IST, Lat: 33.10 N, Long: 76.18 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Doda, Jammu & Kashmir.”

Doda, which lies in a seismically active zone of the Himalayan belt, often experiences mild to moderate tremors. Authorities have advised residents to stay calm and follow safety protocols.
