Bihar's capital city on Monday joined India's list of metro cities as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the first phase of the much-awaited Patna Metro rail service. The inaugural stretch on the Blue Line will run from the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) to Bhoothnath, covering three key stations — Patliputra ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhoothnath.
The inaugural run of the Patna Metro took place from the Patliputra Bus Depot. Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were also present at the launch ceremony. Metro rides for passengers will begin from tomorrow.
For now, passengers will be able to travel on the 4.3-kilometre stretch between ISBT Station, Zero Mile, and Bhootnath Station. The minimum fare for a single station ride is Rs 15, while the full route will cost
