The Priester name is associated in Chicagoland with a prominence in aviation. Quinn Priester is trying to add a different entry to that northeast Illinois family reputation from his own line of work: Cub killer.

Had it not been for his baseball talent in high school in Cary, Illinois, that got him drafted in the first round in 2018, Priester likely would have joined the family trade and become a pilot. The Milwaukee Brewers right-hander comes from a long line of pilots. His grandfather and great grandfather owned Palwaukee Airport, now known as Chicago Executive Airport , and turned it into the busiest privately-owned airport in the world.
