**Reece James Out, Nico O'Reilly Set for England Debut**

Reece James has withdrawn from the England squad due to injury, paving the way for uncapped Nico O'Reilly to potentially make his senior debut. The Chelsea captain sustained a wound on his shin during Chelsea's thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday. As a result, James will miss England's upcoming friendly against Wales at Wembley on Thursday, as well as the World Cup qualifier against Latvia next Tuesday.

Nico O'Reilly, a 20-year-old left-back from Manchester City, was initially selected for the under-21 squad but has now been called up to the senior team. O'Reilly has represented England at every age group since under-15 level. He played the full 90 minutes in City's recent 1-0 win over Brentford, having established himself in the first team under manager Pep Guardiola last season. Last month, O'Reilly signed a new five-year contract with City, a move Guardiola welcomed, stating, "We want him, so we did the effort that we need to help him stay here longer. I'm really pleased because Nico is growing a lot."

James' injury adds to Chelsea's defensive woes. The club was already missing four centre-backs before Saturday's match, and two more players were substituted as a precaution during the game. Willy Caballero, who spoke to reporters after the match, confirmed, "The two central defenders, it was just prevention. They made a great effort today, but just prevention. We spoke with them already and they said that they are okay, so [it is] good for us."

As the situation develops, all eyes will be on O'Reilly as he prepares for the possibility of making his international debut in the coming fixtures.
