New Delhi: The Election Commission on Monday announced the schedule for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Voting will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, and the counting will be done on November 14. The announcement was made by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The state has 7.43 crore registered voters, including around 14 lakh first-time voters, according to the Election Commission.
Two-day review of poll preparedness
The announcement came after an extensive two-day review of poll preparedness in the state. CEC Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, held a series of meetings in Patna over the weekend to assess security, logistics, and enforcement measures to ensure free, fair, and inducement-free elections.
