ORLAND, Calif. - The Orland Water Tank construction is more than halfway done, but the city continues to face some hurdles in completing the project.
The water tank is 70% complete and is expected to be finished by summer 2026. It will enable residents with wells in Glenn County to connect to Orland's city water system.
Joe Goodman, the Orland city manager, said crews worked over the summer on welding, assembling, and painting the tank. Now, they are focusing on the mechanical and electrical components.
"During this summer, it's been a phased approach, this summer they were working on the main lines on the west side of town and currently they are connecting and moving forward with connecting residents to the main lines that were installed, that was the phase approach," said Goodman.
