Claire's Accessories is set to close 145 stores across the UK and Ireland, following its acquisition by investment group Modella Capital. Administrators at Interpath announced that the majority of Claire's UK operations and assets had been secured under the new ownership.

However, 145 branches were not included in the deal, putting around 1,000 jobs at risk. Interpath has pledged to keep these stores open for as long as possible while seeking alternative solutions.

The future of 156 stores was safeguarded through the Modella agreement, according to reports from the Express. The affected stores are due to permanently close, with clearance sales starting this weekend, as reported by The Sun.
