President Donald Trump's longtime strategist Stephen Miller threw a public meltdown on social media when a prominent Democratic congressman accused him of enabling violence — but the target of his wrath remained completely unswayed.
Over the weekend, the South Carolina home of state circuit court judge Diane Goodstein erupted in flames with her family still inside. Her husband, a former state senator, and two other family members, were hospitalized. The cause of the fire is unknown, but state law enforcement agents are investigating the matter as a potential act of arson, and speculation has run wild online given that Goodstein recently issued a ruling that blocked state officials from transferring voter information to Trump's Justice Department.
Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) took to X to point out this all happened very soon after Miller, who has become known for pushing Nazi-adjacent ideas against immigrants, repeatedly attacked judges that rule against President Donald Trump, telling supporters they are being oppressed by "judicial tyranny," and even accused a federal judge Trump himself appointed of waging "legal insurrection" when she blocked the administration from sending the National Guard to occupy Portland, Oregon.
"Trump, @StephenM and MAGA-world have been doxxing and threatening judges who rule against Trump, including Judge Goodstein," wrote Goldman. "Today, someone committed arson on the Judge’s home, severely injuring her husband and son. Will Trump speak out against the extreme right that did this??"
Miller responded with a lengthy, furious rant.
"You are vile. Deeply warped and vile," wrote Miller. "While the Trump Administration has launched the first-ever government-wide effort to combat and prosecute illegal doxing, sinister threats and political violence you continue to push despicable lies, demented smears, malicious defamation and foment unrest. Despicable. Meanwhile, the Democrat AG nominee in Virginia is fantasizing about murdering his opponents and a Biden federal judge is showing radical leniency to a monster who tried to assassinate a Supreme Court Justice. While you post your libelous madness, we will keep focused on delivering public safety and fighting domestic terror."
Shortly after, Goldman responded again.
"Now try answering my question," he posted. "If you are trying to combat political violence, why don’t you condemn the political violence against a judge who ruled against you and your admin? It’s pretty simple: do you condemn all political violence or only that against your supporters?"
