71-year-old woman killed in Simcoe, OPP say

Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating a homicide in Simcoe, Ont.

Barbara Morgan, a 71-year-old woman, was found dead in a home Sunday morning, police said in a news release.

Police arrived at the home "shortly after 10:30 a.m." on Head Street South. There will be an increased police presence in the area.

"Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no indication of a broader threat," police said in the news release. They said the Norfolk OPP crime unit is investigating in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner, Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto, and with assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
