KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A Knoxville woman was arrested on Saturday after she allegedly hit a seven-year-old child twice in a parking lot.

According to court records, officers went to the Kroger on Chapman Highway after receiving a report of a woman hitting a child.

On the scene, officers said two witnesses told them they saw 29-year-old Loren Whaley “drag” the child into a car and hit him in the face twice with a closed fist.

Court records said officers spoke to the child, who first said he just had a nosebleed. After being hesitant to answer if he had been hit, he pointed to the right side of his face, which was visibly red. Additionally, the child had dried blood on his shorts and leg and a red mark on his arm.
