Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday strongly condemned the attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and party MLA Dr Shankar Ghosh in West Bengal, calling it “outright appalling" and a reflection of the state’s “pathetic law and order situation."

Murmu sustained injuries after being attacked while distributing relief materials to flood-affected communities. The stone-pelting attack occurred in Jalpaiguri’s Nagrakata area, as Murmu and BJP Ghosh were on the ground assisting victims of recent heavy rains, floods, and landslides.
