PRESIDENT Trump’s decision to send hundreds of troops to a major US city is receiving significant backlash from officials.
The president plans to send 400 Texas National Guard Troops to several states as anti-ICE protests rage on.
Troops will be deployed to Illinois, Oregon, and other states, according to Democratic Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.
Pritzker claimed, in a post on X, that no government officials had called him to discuss the order or coordinate.
He called Trump’s pursuits an “invasion.”
“We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion,” Pritzker wrote on X.
“It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.”
