KEMI Badenoch has said she will leave the European Convention of Human Rights if the the Conservatives win the next election.

The Tory leader declared she has come up with an exit plan to “protect our borders” if she is elected.

She told the Tory Conference on Sunday that leaving the framework will be the start of reforms the Conservative Party would carry out as part of its immigration policies

Badenoch told the party's conference in Manchester that "well meaning treaties and statues" like the ECHR are "now being used in ways never intended by their original authors".

“What should be shields to protect the vulnerable have instead become swords to attack democratic decisions and frustrate common sense," she added.
