A 42-year-old Java man died after a Friday night crash in Pittsylvania County.

It happened at about 11 p.m. Friday on U.S. 29 just north of Tower Lane near Blairs.

The Virginia State Police report Bryson Everett Miller was driving a 2015 Chevrolet north on U.S. 29 when it crossed the medial and crashed into southbound travel lanes.

Miller, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to the helipad at Blairs Fire and Rescue, where he died before the helicopter arrive, police report.

The crash is still under investigation.
