PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Another man has been arrested for aggravated battery in connection with the incident where a crowd restricted the police from giving aid to a man who had been shot.

Quovideous Pierson, 28, of Peoria, was arrested at the 100 block of Northeast Perry Avenue on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer and obstructing police at 2:44 a.m., Friday, Oct. 4, said police spokeswoman Semone Roth.

Pierson joins five others who were arrested for their role in the incident.

In court last week, after more than two hours of body camera footage, testimony and arguments, Peoria County Judge Mark Gilles sided with prosecutors and detained Barry Anderson, Trennell Carter, Wesley Collins, Larenshia Harris-Moore and Ariann Jackson pending the outcome of their felony cases.
